CELLAR GLASSWARE
Designed in Burgundy
Introducing PATRIQ, the glass ouilleur that keeps every barrel full.
Created by an engineer turned winemaker for his own cellar 30 years ago. Now available to yours.
Fewer top-ups, less oxygen.
Every barrel loses wine. PATRIQ gives it back.
PATRIQ sits in the bunghole of your barrel and holds a small reserve of wine. As the oak breathes and the wine evaporates, PATRIQ quietly refills the barrel, so it stays full and the air stays in the glass, not in your barrel.
Designed almost 30 years ago by Patrick Landanger at Domaine de la Pousse d’Or in Volnay, and used in his cellar ever since. Now available to winemakers everywhere.

Why winemakers
use PATRIQ
-
Without PATRIQ, a gap of air forms under the curved top of the barrel as wine evaporates, and a wide surface of wine is exposed to it. With PATRIQ, the barrel stays full, and only a 30 mm surface inside the glass meets the air. That’s about the size of a coin.
-
The clear glass shows the level from across the cellar, so you never need to open a barrel just to check it. The approx. 600 ml reservoir keeps the barrel full for weeks, so you top up far less often.
PATRIQ WaS designed by a medical engineer turned winemakEr
Patrick Landanger spent his career designing precision instruments for heart surgery. Then he fulfilled his lifelong dream. He became a winemaker by taking over the iconic Domaine de la Pousse d’Or in Volnay. An inventor at heart, he soon faced one of the cellar’s oldest chores
Topping up the barrels - highly inefficient with regards to time management, and also oxygen exposure. So he designed his own solution. For 30 years it was used only at the Domaine and shared with a few friends.
2026 - PatriQ is born
In 2026, a short video of the device went viral on the social media account hannahswinediary.
Within weeks, winemakers around the world were asking the same question: where can I get one?
Patrick’s son, Benoît Landanger, entrusted me with his father’s original designs, so that a tool once made for one cellar can now serve many.
Over the past months, I’ve spoken to countless glassware manufacturers to find one that helps me bring Patrick’s original plans to life - at an affordable price that will make it accessible to any winemaker in the world.
